Dave, You need to start somewhere. This list of rules seems fair enough. I just hope it will be easy to implement it. Keep it simple and hopefully it will work out fine. You guys are doing great job for the international soccer community. Good luck.

To All Players and Coaches:
Here is the first draft of the proposed rule changes. Please comment on them. I will take comments into consideration until Saturday morning, after which I will print the rules and distribute them at the pitch. Once they have been distributed, they will be in effect.
UPDATE TO THE LEAGUE RULES In response to the violence on the field during league play on the Saturday July 18th, the following rules are coming into effect August 1st 2009.
RED CARDS ~Red Cards are given at the discretion of the Referee, who is the authority on the field during ANY game. All players given a red card must leave the pitch immediately and without discussion. Any arguing with the referee will be taken into consideration when the league determines the length of the suspension.
~Length of suspension will be determined by the seriousness of the offence, and in consultation with the referee. Once the league makes a decision, there will be no changes.
~Any suspended player who attempts to play before the end of their suspension will have his or her suspension doubled and the team will have to pay a $50 dollar fine.
RED CARDS FOR FIGHTING ~Any players receiving a red card for fighting, or for injuring a player / referee / supporter with malicious intent, will be removed from the league for the rest of the season.
~Depending on the nature of the fight and the severity of injuries inflicted, the league will consider pressing charges against the responsible players.
~Any team with players removed for fighting will have 6 points removed from their total at the end of the season. Each team will also pay the league $100 dollars per suspended player.

To All players and coaches:
As we approach the final three rounds of League play, there are still a number of teams who have not paid all of their league fees. I want to remind everyone that without your payments, our community league can not function. Our budget is limited to what you pay us, and we make no profit, thus we have no way to cover non-payment.
Therefore, any team which is not fully paid up by the 10th of August will be disqualified from play-offs, regardless of their league position. If there are any questions regarding the payments, please get in touch with me ASAP.
PAYMENT IN FULL DUE AUGUST 10th

In regards to if the official got hit in the head. That is a yes. He did..official who referees who worked a tournament told me he could tell the guy was physically shaken by it the next week and had a lump on his head by hi neck from when it hit the ground.
Not really sure what hitting an official has to do with the level of talent in yourleague but being a great player should not give youthe right to throw punches into the direction of a man who is the on field administrator of the league.
If this league wants representation then I would think you'd ask this official to run your leagu in years to come. He has been around for many years in the game and is as good as it gets as far as fairness goes.
If you don't think so, ask anyone involved in teh game locally and they will tell you he knows his stuff.

Thanks

to Rev,
what facts you talking about man?..everyone knows we have great players in this league but the fact is the field sucks period. dont try to come in here and say something that dont make sense. we just stating the facts about the field. how you suppose to enjoy the game with that. i am not critizing the league organziers or the refs, they doing good things to even start the tournament. there is also some teams that are out of control. the organizers should set up league rules in order to have a well organized games.

I agree the pitch is in bad shape. We have addressed this issue with Park and Rec at a number of meetings. They are attempting to buy equipment that will help with drainage, which will prevent the pitch from buckling the way it does at the moment. As with all parts of the city, they are dealing with a small budget...
I agree that a letter campaign will be a good push from our side, and encourage the city to invest in the field. I will prepare one and bring it to the teams to sign... Thanks for the idea!
